Dr. Michael DiNunzio

Excited to serve in the Asheville area, Dr. Michael DiNunzio grew up visiting the Blue Ridge mountains during his summers growing up in North Carolina where he fell in love with the rich culture of the area, friendly people, and brilliant landscapes. After graduating from undergrad at UNCW with a degree in Anthropology Dr. DiNunzio was focused on understanding how the culture of Western medicine could be so accomplished at treating disease but at the same time be so limited in its ability to prevent disease. Travelling to Yucatan, Mexico; Dr. DiNunzio spent time interviewing locals in the area about their knowledge of traditional medicine, from the highly revered midwives who had saved many a pregnancy to the local medicine man who would bless mysterious herbal tinctures that were proclaimed as a cure-all to any ailment. Through the appreciation of local knowledge of traditional medicines in Mexico a young Dr. DiNunzio started to focus on a holistic approach to healthcare that sought to treat the body as a whole and not merely the sum of its parts. Along this path he was introduced to Chiropractic and learned that the goal of Chiropractic is to restore balance to the body through treating the nervous system and removing interference from the spine.

Dr. DiNunzio set off to attend Sherman College of Chiropractic just down the mountain from Asheville in Spartanburg, SC. While attending chiropractic college Dr. DiNunzio focused his time outside of class taking care of his twin boys, Michael and Gabriel, and his youngest son Liam as well as focusing on learning a specific chiropractic technique that removes pressure from the brainstem. Dr. DiNunzio has spent years working on his technique and has travelled to Columbia, South America with a team of chiropractors to share this specific technique to thousands of people.

In his free time Dr. DiNunzio enjoys going on adventures with his sons in the majestic Blue Ridge mountains, spending quality time with family, learning to play new songs on the guitar, hiking as many trails as possible, learning to cook new foods that are healthy as they are tasty, and also trying not to fall off a trail on his mountain bike.
